Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Republic of Singapore negotiations for a Bilateral Agreement on Carbon Markets pursuant to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement

On 3rd to 6th March 2025 the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Republic of Singapore engaged in negotiations for a Bilateral Agreement on Carbon Markets pursuant to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement in Singapore.

The Bilateral Agreements would enable Kenya to achieve emissions targets set out in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) while promoting sustainable development and environmental integrity.

The Kenyan Delegation was led Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno, Miek, CBS, Principal Secretary, State Department for Environment and Climate Change, and other Government Officials from Ministries of Environment, Foreign Affairs, the National Treasury and Attorney General’s office among others to engage in negotiations in Singapore.
